Finally....
What To Expect During & After Auditions

During auditions we will be teaching you some basic concepts in pantomime. We just want to see if you are able to catch on to the basics of this ministry. We will also use this time to see who our lead mimes will be as the new team develops. You do not have to audition every year. Once you are a member you may remain one unless you later feel the need to resign. Auditions will not last more than one hour and you will be in a group setting.

Lead mimes are rotated for individual solos and other ministry opportunities within the group. We require our lead mimes to be responsible in their school work, family life as well as their committment to the team.

You will be given a packette to take home. This will include at least one video DVD & a practice CD for music we expect to learn this year. Getting familar with your music will make things much easier for you to learn we we come together and practice.

We will post a cast list soon after the auditions and contact you about our first practice. We hope to start practice the following week. Practices will be held every Tuesday from 6:30-8:30pm. There may be some practices that you will be dismissed from if we are not working on your part.

After auditions you can expect to practice at least once a week. Most of the time we do not practice more than that unless we are close to a performance. We will ask you to submit a letter of recommendation before you will be released to minister/perform in any church setting. This letter can be written by any spiritual leader. Examples would be pastor, youth pastor, sunday school teacher, deacon, etc.....

We will ask you to commit to practicing your roles and choreography at home. We use our practice time to learn new things and to fine tune them. If everyone practices at home this makes this process go a lot quicker.

We are planning on shooting at least two DVD projects this year. One training DVD to help other churches start their one mime team. And one performance DVD of this year's songs.

We will ask you to provide a portion of your costume. If you are thrifty you can get your entire costume for about 30.00. You will need the following:

1. Black Dress Pants (Dark - Not Faded - No Jeans - Loose Fitting)

2. Black Mens's Dress Shirt (Long Sleeve - Pocket in Front - Black Buttons - No design - At lease one size larger than what you normally wear. This allows for better movement and modesty.)

3. Black Shoes & Socks. (We recommend Jazz shoes but are not required. Must be all black including any laces or soul. No LOGOS)

We will provide your makeup, tie, hats, gloves and many other misc props. Because we are paying for our practice space as well as many supplies we ask those members that can afford it to please bring $3.00 to every practice to help cover our expenses. This is not required but if we can all pitch in it really helps take the burden off the teams finances.

There may be times if funds are low that will ask for some fundraising help. However, we do not want to put a financial burden on any family and understand that there may be some that cannot afford this. We are asking for a very small amount so if at all possible please be a team player and help us keep this ministry floating.

We never charge churches to minister. This enables us to minister to very needy areas and is a big portion of our vision. Many churches do take up love offerings and God always finds a way to meet our needs. However, a group effort is so helpful and appreciated by all members.
